Terms of Entry

Entry to and exclusion of entry from the Casino

The operator has the right to prohibit a person from entering or remaining in the Casino, in accordance with the Casino Control Act 1982. The operator reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at its discretion.

 

Preservation of other rights to prevent entry to premises or remove persons from premises

The operator has the right to prohibit a person from entering or remaining in the Casino who does not meet the standards set by the operator.

 

Minors and excluded patrons prohibited

It is an offence for a person under the age of 18 years or an excluded patron to be in any part of the premises defined as Casino Licenced Area during operating hours.

 

Lost Property

All property including gaming tickets, unattended credits and gaming chips are to be handed to a Casino team member on being found. Failure by you to do this may be deemed as theft and may result in the matter being referred to authorities and/or exclusion from the Casino.

 

Security and Surveillance

You may be filmed, photographed and/or subject to audio recording while in the Casino including through the use of facial recognition technology. Video footage, photographic images or audio recordings of individuals may be disclosed to enforcement bodies, Casino authorities or other casinos. By entering the Casino, you consent to such surveillance and disclosure of video footage, photographic images and recordings.

Entry ID Requirements

Patrons must be 18 years and over to enter the Casino and purchase Alcohol on property. Please see acceptable forms of ID required.

 

Liquor Act 1992 - SECT 6

 

Acceptable evidence of age

 

(1) For this Act, acceptable evidence of the age of a person is a document, issued to the person, that—

(a) is 1 of the following—

(i) an adult proof of age card;

(ii) a recognised proof of age card;

(iii) an Australian driver licence;

(iv) a foreign driver licence;

(v) an Australian or foreign passport; and

(b) is current; and

(c) bears a photo of the person; and

(d) indicates, by reference to the person's date of birth or otherwise, the person has attained a particular age.

(2) In this section—

adult proof of age card see the Adult Proof of Age Card Act 2008, section 5.

Australian driver licence see the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995, schedule 4.

authorised entity means—

(a) an entity of the Commonwealth or another State performing functions similar to the functions of the chief executive under the Adult Proof of Age Card Act 2008; or

(b) an entity—

(i) approved by an entity mentioned in paragraph (a) to issue documents used as evidence of the age of persons; and

(ii) approved, in writing, by the commissioner.

Recognised proof of age card means a document issued to a person, by an authorised entity, for the purpose of evidencing the age of the person

Hotels & Restaurants
Hotels & Restaurants

For the comfort of all patrons, a minimum dress standard of smart casual attire and footwear is required at all times, irrespective of fashion trends. Patrons and guests are permitted entry to the hotel and restaurants where their overall appearance is deemed suitable for entry, and does not:

 

  1. Bear offensive slogans or pictures
  2. Present a security risk
  3. Appear ripped, dirty, soiled or untidy
  4. Present a health and safety hazard

 

Sleeveless tops are permitted when the overall appearance is deemed suitable for entry to the Casino.

 

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at its discretion.

FAQs

Responsible Service of Alcohol

The Risk Assessed Management Plan, covering the Responsible Service of Alcohol, will be made available for review on reasonable request from Safety & Security or Food & Beverage Management.

Gaming Floor
Gaming Floor

Patrons and guests in possession of, displaying, or wearing any of the following items are prohibited from entry to the gaming floor unless a provision for exemption applies:

 

  1. Headwear regardless of style or size
  2. Camouflage clothing
  3. Any form of work boot
  4. Any form of footwear where a steel cap is fitted
  5. Wearing rubber thongs after 6pm
  6. Security uniforms
  7. Sleeveless tops are permitted entry when the overall appearance is deemed suitable for entry to the Casino.
  8. Uncovered tattoos on the face, neck or head (tattoos must not be visible)
  9. Any form of disguise, including face paint
  10. Swimwear
  11. Backpack, knapsack or luggage
  12. Shopping bags, parcels, cartons or containers where: the item is larger than A3 in size; is unable to be inspected prior to entry; or where items are carried in numbers deemed to be excessive so as to inconvenience other patrons and guests

 

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at its discretion.

    FAQs

    Bag Inspection

    All bags that are not prohibited from entry to the Casino, are to be made available for inspection prior to entry to the Casino.

     

    Loss of, damage to, or theft of property

    Patrons and guests bring any permitted item into the Casino premises at their own risk.  The Star Entertainment Group Limited and any of its related body corporates do not accept any liability whatsoever under any circumstances for loss of, damage to or theft of property belonging to patrons and guests while on the premises.  

     

    Game Rules

    Upon the reasonable request of a Casino patron or guest, the Casino Gaming Rule 2010 pertaining to the various games played in the Casino will be made available for review at the Customer Service Desk or in the 24-hour gaming pit. Gaming Guides are available on request at the Customer Service Desk.

     

    Responsible Service of Alcohol

    The Risk Assessed Management Plan, covering the Responsible Service of Alcohol, will be made available for review on reasonable request from Safety & Security or Food & Beverage Management.

     

    Gaming Machines

    For the benefit and comfort of all patrons and guests playing the gaming machines the following applies:

    1. The operator reserves the right to restrict patrons and guests from playing more than one gaming machine.
    2. Tapping or hitting machines other than through normal play or otherwise interfering with them is not permitted and such conduct may result in you being excluded from the Casino.
    3. Table game chairs are not permitted at gaming machines.

     

    Gaming Tables

    Sunglasses are not permitted to be worn whilst sitting at a gaming table with the exception of patrons and guests playing Texas Hold’em Poker.

     

    Government Inspectors

    A representative of the Queensland Gaming Regulator (the 'Regulator') will be in attendance at the premises at certain times. A Casino patron or guest wishing to contact the Regulator should seek direction from the Gaming Operations Manager.

    Patron complaints not resolved by the operator may be lodged with the Regulator on a complaint form obtained from the Gaming Operations Manager. Alternatively contact may be made with a member of the Regulator via 13QGOV (13 74 68) or online at www.justice.qld.gov.au.

     

    Cheating and unlawful behaviour

    Cheating or unlawful behaviour is contrary to the Casino Control Act 1982 and will result in prosecution.

     

    Tipping

    Casino licensed team members are not permitted to accept or solicit any tip, gratuity, consideration or other benefit from any patron or guest.

     

    Cameras, telephones and other electronic devices

    The use of cameras in any form (standard, video, digital or on mobile phones) within the gaming areas is prohibited except with the prior approval of the casino operator. The use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is not permitted at gaming tables except with the prior approval of the Casino Operator.  The playing of music or the watching of videos by patrons and guests on mobile phones and other electronic devices in a way which disturbs others is not permitted within the Casino at any time.  

     

    Designated Outdoor Smoking Areas

    Smoking is not permitted in any enclosed area within the premises including the car park. Designated Outdoor Smoking Areas (DOSA) are available throughout the premises. Please refer to the Smoking Management Plan which is available from the Gaming Operations Manager.

     

    Undesirable Activity

    Any identified undesirable behaviour may result in the behaviour being referred to authorities and/or an exclusion from the Casino being issued. Undesirable behaviour includes but is not limited to:

    1. Aggressive/abusive behaviour to staff or patrons and guests.
    2. Vandalism.
    3. Any illegal activity.

      VIP Gaming Room

      Our VIP Gaming rooms provide a premium and exclusive experience for our invited guests. To maintain this, we ask that guests adhere to a minimum dress code of smart casual attire and footwear, irrespective of fashion trends.

       

      The following will result in access being declined on this occasion.

       

      1. Headwear regardless of style or size (exceptions made on special events)
      2. Camouflage or cargo style clothing
      3. Revealing clothing
      4. Clothing bearing offensive slogans or pictures
      5. Any form of work boots including footwear fitted with steel caps
      6. Rubber thongs
      7. Sports Jerseys (exceptions made on special events)
      8. Workwear or Security uniforms
      9. Sleeveless tops, singlets or tank tops (guests may be permitted to wear sleeveless tops when the overall appearance is deemed suitable)
      10. Uncovered tattoos on the face, neck or head (tattoos must not be visible)
      11. Any form of disguise, including face paint or surgical masks
      12. Gym wear, training wear, beachwear and swimwear
      13. Dirty or unkempt footwear
      14. Dirty or unkempt appearance including torn or ripped clothing
      15. Backpack, knapsack or luggage including shopping bags, parcels, cartons or containers where: the item is larger than A3 in size; is unable to be inspected prior to entry; or where items are carried in numbers deemed to be excessive to inconvenience other guests

       

      Management Reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at any time at its sole discretion.
