The inaugural Gold Coast Poker Champships was a huge success with 226 players competing over the 4 days from October 13-16. Jupiters has found it's first Champion.
Day 1a & 1b went for 8 levels leaving 104 players returning for Day 2.
The action was frantic on Day 2 and after 10 levels the bubble burst and there were 25 players left who all came back for the final day to play for the $226,000 in prize money.
The final day started with a bang and 6 players were eliminated within the first level of play. Play was broken to 2 tables of 10 and a final table of 9.
The final table went quicker than expected and heads up only lasted 3 hands when Brent Tauton went all in with Pocket Kings and Adrian Sportelli snap called with Aces. The board ran out and Adrian became the first winner of the GCPC and won over $58,000.
